ABOUT
DAVID carpenter
I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Arkansas in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, I was the manager of Franconia Sculpture Park. 2010, I was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Louisiana State University.
I am forever a maker and have maintained a robust creative practice for over 20 years, exhibiting art and collaborating with other creatives. Sometimes, making art is making Big Sculptures, sometimes it is working with actors and directors to make elaborate theatrical props and sets, sometimes it is collaborating with my filmmaker brother and making performance-based digital art, and sometimes it is coaching Destination Imagination teams and making cool stuff with kids.
In 2010, I started teaching full-time at the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, where I serve as an Assistant Teaching Professor and Chair of The Fine Arts and Humanities department.
I live in my hometown with the love of my life and children.
